幾個月前在日本新宿嘗過 Mos Burger 後，
無論蔬菜的新鮮度，抹茶Latte的口感，一試難忘。
mos burger於apm開幕兩個星期後，
終於有時間抽空再次一試！

然而......

After trying Mos Burger in Japan few months ago, I can't forget the freshness of the vegetable and the taste of the Iced Maccha Latte (ie green tea latte). Finally I have time to try the HK version out this weekend.

However...

水準其實與日本的分別不大，
只是，我得不到一心想再試的抹茶 Latte...
「今天抹茶 Latte 售罄。」店員如此說。

另外，要在商場內排一整個小時才得到這一餐，
比起在新宿街頭輕輕鬆鬆就可以得到的，
怎麼說感覺都沒有那麼暢快！

Well actually the quality of the food is more or less the same as those in Japan. However the waitress said, "sorry the Maccha Latte is sold out." What's more, when compared with the situation in Japan, while I can just get the food right away easily in Shinjuku, I need to queuing up for an hour inside a mall to get the food isn't a REALLY pleasure experience...

自從2004起，
每年我都會到場欣賞wild day out grand show，
因為除了我十分喜歡的音樂人，如范曉萱、恭碩良等，
還會有很多的surprise，如上年的soda green。

Since 2004, I go to the Wild Day Out grand show every year. Because there are always my favourite musicians like Mavis Fan, Jun Kung, and also some surprise like Soda Green last year.

剛剛在這個星期一及星期二，
我與Dan用了一日半的時間，
去完成了今年在 wild day out grand show 中，
在 stage 上 big LED screen 的 五個 logo animation。
比起上年我製作的，
今年我所製作的三款animation都是完全不同style的呢!!
100% different!!!

In this Monday and Tuesday, Dan and I just finsihed 5 logo animations, which will be shown on the big LED screen on the Wild Day Out grand show. Those 3 that I did this year are totally different from what I did last year. 100% different!!

今次的創作，可說是毫無concept可言。
是純 visual design 上的創作，而visual design 一向都是我的弱項，
所以今次可說是向死亡挑戰呢!!

When I was creating this time, actually there isn't any so-called concept at all. This is just a pure visual deisgn work, which is my weakness!!! So dare I am...

我坐在我的意識的河流旁邊，從自己的意識中尋找靈感，
過程其實與上次我替Funk Jazz dancer 輝仔
所製作的dance opening十分相似。

先訂下簡單的主題，就像今次的Bling、Dot柄及黯邪photo-realistic，
然後等一會，很神奇地，
那些visual就會突然之間在我眼前「叮」一聲的出現!!


I was just like sitting beside my river of subconcious, and searching for some muse from it. Indeed it's very similar to what happened when I was making the dance opening for Funk Jazz dancer Fai Jai. (the skull head from mo-c.com) First having some simple theme, like this time they are Bling, Dot Pattern and dark photo-realistic. And then wait for a while, and suddenly, those visuals will come into my mind automatically!!

Live Jazz night

繼明和電機的demonstration之後，
星期六到了同樣位於中環的frnige club欣賞live jazz。

雖然聽了很多的 jazz 及 nu-jazz CD，
但真真正正現場感受live jazz 還是第一次!!!!

After the night of Maywa Denki, on Saturday night I went to the Fringe Club, which is also located in Central, to enjoy a live jazz session. Although I've listened to quite a few jazz and "nu-jazz" albums, this is my first time to really sit in a lounge and having a live jazz band in front of me!



當晚最令我興奮的，就是可以近距離欣賞double bass 的演奏!!
在沒有 frets 的絃線上疾走彈奏，
加上 double bass 的圓潤低音，
以及那在 jazz 中決定性的bass rhythm，
一切一切都有著令我尖叫的衝動!!

實不相瞞，我是一個bass-maniac!!

What I love most in the show was to really look at the double bass performance RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME! Playing without frets on the bass neck, the really good quality bass sound, together with the determining bass rhythm in Jazz, all just drive me crazy!!!

Yes, I'm a Bass-maniac!!!

明和電機的「製品demostration」

都有四、五年了吧？
買過 knock man，想過但最後沒有買過魚骨電話繩，
陷入明和電機狂熱的時候，我「還是」一個大學生呢。

事隔多年，明和電機居然親臨香港，
攪展覽之餘，還舉行了「演唱會」！
看之前，大家的expectation都是觀摩一下那些無鬼聊design，
至於音樂，理所當然的只是配角，
「這些所謂樂器所奏出的音樂，都是很實驗性的吧！」
這就是大家心目中的pre-set。

大錯特錯！
所有人都大錯特錯！

被稱為「製品demostration」的conert，
「第三代社長」土佐信道的表演是超乎想像以外的充滿娛樂性！
而那些「樂器」或「發明」或「製品」確確實實是200%的無鬼聊！
「音樂」的表演居然能牽起所有觀眾的情緒！
100v的電流(this is very dangerous)果然不簡單....！

據說他們下年還會再來港演出！
錯失今次機會的人，下年萬勿錯過！

finally!! headporter ipod case!!!

自上年開始使用我的60GB video ipod 以來，
便一直替它搜括著一個「像樣的」ipod case。

一年後的今天，我等到了！
友人Rie專誠由日本空運抵港！
headporter出品，
blackbeauty 系列的 video ipod 專用case！
無論設計、功能，甚至質料上都是過去一年來我見過最好的，
尤其是當指尖觸碰到布料的一刻，
簡直有令人尖叫的手感！

唯一美中不足是，隔著布料ipod不能detect到rotate的指令！
雖然click的指令是毫無問題....

blog爆!!! (二)

基於工作上的需要(又或純粹滿足個人的喜好)，
了解最新的 pop culture 資訊是每日的指定動作。
以往靠的，就只有海外本地的各大少雜誌。
最瘋狂的，莫過於本的的milk 及 東touch，
以一星期的 time frame 來說，
要更新大量的歐美日及本地流行資訊，已經令人無說可說。

但可惜的是，對我來說，這些二手資料，
最快的也都已經慢了兩三天，
可以的話，我要即時的！

於是，我發現了blog + rss 這個神奇的組合！
於是，我得到了傳說中的24小時式的新聞報導！
還是要一手的資訊呢！

不要問我什麼是rss，我沒有打算去解釋。
但容我我形容一下 now vs. before 的情況，
聰明的你應該會get 到的了。

以honeyee.com為例。
以往的做法如下：
開browser (以往用的是internet explorer)，
click bookmark ->honeyee.com
看一看頭版有沒有更新，噢今天沒有，
再入眾人的blog 看一看有誰更新了，
噢，今天是John C. Jay、岡澤高宏、田中知之及藤原Hiroshi，
高橋盾、清永浩文及其他人沒有更新呢。
然click John C. Jay，讀完後，back to blog front page，
又click 岡澤高宏，讀完後，back to blog front page，
又click 田中知之.....
呀!!忘記了讀完誰的未讀誰的.....
如是者讀完今天新的blog要花上不少時間呢。

然後有一天，我用了Mozilla 的 Firefox 及 Thunderbird 後，
用上了rss 的button，情況就變得輕鬆得多了。
Anyway，就像email一樣，只要我subscribe了的blog更新了，
就會自動即時通知我(只要我在網上) ，
誰更新了誰看過了一目了然，
自此之後有部份的資訊在我閱讀milk or 東touch前我已經知道了，
以及可以更貼身了解自己欣賞的artist 及 designer呢！

例如，原來田中知之(a.k.a. Fantastic Plastic Machine)最近到了京都Djing，
大澤伸一(a.k.a. monda grosso)到了London開會後再到韓國，
藤原Hiroshi宣佈不再擔任DJ，
Undercover 主腦高橋盾曾invite Yeah Yeah Yeahs
到Undercover Lab作private live show 等等等等，
香港，甚至連日本雜誌都未必報導的第一手消息，
click 一 click 就得到了。

就這樣，我就上了blog癮！！！

blog爆!!! (一)

"blog" 這個發明，好樣都有好幾年，甚至十年了。
當時對我來說，只是一個online diary之類的東西，
將自已的生活瑣事呀、突如其來的感受呀，
總之就是一個抒發私人感情的地方，
同時也可與朋友們作間接溝通之用....
雖知「現代都市人」都喜愛 virtual 的溝通，
以及總有一些事，三口六面時總難說清，
又或者說，當有public announcement 的時候，
叫大家上online diary一看就明白了，
不用多說，多方便！

但多年後的今天，blog，己經不是再是online diary了，
或己經不再只是online diary了！
有不少公司都己經有自己的blog，當然可以用作online diary之用，
但更實際的作用，其實是self promotion，以及最新消息發報。

現今「資訊主導」的年代，掌握消息的速度比什麼都更重要。
今天我們出了甚麼product呀，現在正忙著甚麼新project呀，
下個月要出新碟了，crossover Tee 今天上架，等等等等，
不用經由雜誌電台公佈，自己已經可以作第一手的報導，
在現今資訊決定一切的社會中，一天的快慢，
可能已經決定了project的成與敗！

而我近來開始迷上了blog這玩意！
原因是．．．

Nike Hybrids

近期十分喜愛的 motion graphics TVC.
由 idea 到 design 到 animation style 都是我 my cup of tea！

如果香港的客戶能容納這種較抽象
(但其實亦易明)的execution的話，
香港的TVC相信一定更精彩！


This is my recently beloved motion graphics TVC. Both the idea, design and animation style are all my cup of tea!!

If the clients in Hong Kong would like to accept this kind of "relatively abstract" (which to me is very easy understanding) execution, I think the TVC scene in HK must be much more fun.

煙花

影響我一生的電影，當然有不少。
其中一齣就是岩井俊二的《煙花》。

從側面看，煙花是圓是扁？大人故然有理性的答案，然而青春就是要去探索。
最後萬籟皆靜，煙花砰然盛放，開到荼靡，如煙如霧，就如你我的青春。

這就是我當年的「影評」，而此電影亦決定了我日後的創作風格。
我的風格是什麼？當然是留待身為觀眾的你去發掘吧．．．

1993年的一齣關於夏天的作品，
被我在1998年的暑假在itv(now tv的前前前身)看到了。
數年後我得到了VCD版本。
到了2003年在amazon.co.jp訂購了10th anniversary documentary。
2004年，VCD得到了岩井俊二的真筆簽名。
最後(其實可能還未到最後)我在2006年的香港街上，
購買了終於推出市面的港版DVD。

是一個歷時十三年的故事！
當然，假以時日當我有閒錢的時候，
我還是會到amazon.co.jp(或到日本)，
去購買日版的DVD(如果地球上有的話)。

重看這齣電影時，給我發現了一個驚天的真相！
由於我最初得到的是畫質欠佳的VCD，
而VCD的source又是在香港上映的底片，
故此我一直認為，只要我得到了DVD版，
就可以得到了「地球上最完美無瑕」版本的《煙花》了。
結果，願望有一半成真了。
我確實得到了DVD版，而且幾乎「無瑕」，
但卻不是「完美」！

原來此片的original source是beta cam，而不是film！
觀看原本beta cam 的版本時，反而覺得一切太「清晰」了，
反而港版VCD中，經film沖晒過後的粗糙版本，
更接近我當時的情緒！

就如《煙花》此片本身，
活在「瑕疵」當中，反而更「完美」呢。

"Fireworks"

This is one of the many many films that has strongly influenced my style, FIREWORK by Shunji Iwai.

It's about a summer time of some grade 6 guys, released in 1993. I first watched this in 1998 summer on iTV (which is an early version of Now bbTV). And few years later I bought the VCD version. And in 2003 I bought the 10th anniversary documentary. In 2004, my VCD got signed by Shunji Iwai!!!. And (perhaps) fianlly, I bought the DVD version of it, when it finally got released in HK.

It's a 13-years story!Well, I think I'll still buy the Japanese area code 2 version DVD later when I got some "extra money".....

After watching it again, I realised something very important! Since I got the poored-qaulity VCD version at first, so I keep on thinking that "if I get the DVD version of it, then I can own the most clear and perfect version of this film!" But the truth is little bit different.

The truth is, the original source of this "film" is BETACAM but not FILM!! And now when I'm watching this betacam version, IT'S TOO SHARP! I'd prefer the VCD version which the source was from the film from HK theatres... It's more close to my emotion...

Maybe it's just like the film itself, living in the imperfect is more perfect.
